Welcome to Chesapeake Beach, Maryland

After nineteen years and five terms of proudly serving the people of Chesapeake Beach as your Town Councilman, I step away from elected office filled with gratitude, humility, and deep appreciation for our community.

It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to serve and help lead our Town Council with a steadfast commitment to the well-being of Chesapeake Beach. Over nearly two decades, I worked tirelessly to sustain and enhance the quality of life here—always guided by innovation, cooperation, transparency, and fiscal responsibility.

Every decision I made was shaped by one simple question: How does this help our community? For almost twenty years, I worked consistently and diligently to improve town services, strengthen public safety, protect our small-town character, and promote transparent, fiscally responsible government. Together, we brought innovation to local operations, invested in infrastructure, enhanced parks and recreation, and earned “Banner City” recognition—achievements made possible only through teamwork and community trust.

Together, we achieved meaningful and lasting improvements—from utility rate fairness and infrastructure investment to enhanced public safety, thoughtful development, and fiscal strength. I’m proud that under our collaborative leadership, Chesapeake Beach earned recognition as a “Banner City,” reflecting the hard work of staff, council colleagues, volunteers, and residents alike.

During my tenure, I had the privilege to:

• Lead efforts to modernize municipal facilities and systems, including Town Hall and critical public utilities.

• Support transportation and recreational projects such as street improvements, the historic hiker-biker trail, Veterans Park, Water Park, and Kellam’s Field upgrades—strengthening our community’s character and amenities.

• Advocate for public safety enhancements, from crime prevention initiatives to added law enforcement resources.

• Promote service improvements including online access to our town code, emergency alert systems, and continued excellence at the Water Park and other civic assets.

I also had the honor of representing Chesapeake Beach on county, state, and national stages, including leadership roles with the Maryland Municipal League and other municipal associations—ensuring our small town had a strong voice and a seat at the table.

These accomplishments reflect far more than my efforts alone. They are the result of the trust placed in me by our residents and the tireless dedication of colleagues, partners, and staff who share a deep love for this town.

I retire with a heart full of gratitude—for the opportunity to serve, for the friendships formed, for the challenges overcome, and for the confidence you placed in me year after year.

Thank you for your support, your engagement, and your enduring love for Chesapeake Beach. I look forward to continuing to celebrate the future successes of this remarkable community we call home.

With sincere appreciation,
