April 18, 2018: As a member of the MML (Maryland Municipal League) Legislative Committee, I would like to thank the members of the General Assembly for voting unanimously to pass legislation in 2018 to #FixLocalroads. Together, we were able to #RestoreHURs (Highway User Revenues) by passing Senate Bill 516 and House Bill 807. A Great Team effort!  Thank you to the hard work of our sponsors Cheryl Kagan and Joseline Pena Melnyk, MML was able to pass legislation to protect personal data under the Maryland Public Information Act. SB 477 and HB 677 was signed into law on April 10th as emergency legislation.  MML had a banner year! The League passed two priority bills and was able to fend off a very harmful small cell local preemption bill. In addition, good municipal legislation passed and bad local government legislation died. All in all, a very good session for Maryland’s cities and towns!  WE MADE IT HAPPEN.
